COLOMBIA AND PERU IN 2021

After visiting Costa Rica in Central America, we decided to travel together to South America. For me, Malte, it was my first time going there, and I was super nervous. Vicky and I hadn’t known each other for long, so this was a huge step. Before going to Peru, we visited Colombia together, specifically MedellĂn, Bogotá, Cartagena, Baru and Santa Marta. After that, we flew to Vicky’s country, Peru, where we visited Lima and Cusco. It was an unbelievable trip that motivated us to experience more of South America.

ARGENTINA AND BRAZIL IN 2022

After being inspired by our first visit to South America, we set off on another trip the following year. This time, we chose Argentina and Brazil – an incredibly fascinating journey. From steaks, red wine, tango, and history in Buenos Aires to what are probably the most beautiful waterfalls in the world: the Iguazu Falls at the border of Argentina, Brazil, and Paraguay. A road trip to the south of Brazil, exciting days with plenty of Caipirinhas in Rio, and finally, Jericoacoara in northern Brazil. What a trip!

PERU AND BOLIVIA IN 2023

New year, new trip within South America. Malte chose a master’s thesis topic that made it possible to conduct research in Peru – what a master move. As a result, we stayed a long time in my hometown, Lima, with a nearly two-week break in Bolivia, where we visited La Paz, toured the Uyuni Desert on a 3-day, 2-night trip (Our booked tour), and explored Santa Cruz. Back in Peru, we flew to Mancora in the north to celebrate our birthdays and enjoy the stunning beaches.

PERU 2024

You might think that we have already seen everything in Peru, but that would be a misconception. Peru is so diverse that we will definitely return there together more often. In 2024, we started our trip again in Lima and tried more of Lima’s cuisine. Then we traveled to the south of Peru for the first time, visiting Arequipa followed by Cusco, from where we started the 4-day, 3-night Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu.

We made it!!! What an unbelievable moment.
