Do you want to travel Europe and you are undecided where to go? We will help you to get some inspiration by telling you about our trips and show you the best places in Europe. The good thing is, there are many beautiful places in Europe. each with its own charm. Although Europe is the second smallest continent, it is roughly one-third the size of Africa, slightly larger than the United States, and much smaller than Asia, there are countless destinations in Europe that offer history, diverse cultures, and beautiful landscapes. Before writing detailed blog articles, we want to give you a glimpse of our trips together in Europe and inspire you with some highlights from our adventures.
LONDON
2022
In 2022, we both fulfilled a dream and traveled to London during the winter season. We don’t say this often, but it’s something you have to see for yourself. The Christmas lights are stunning, even more beautiful than in Germany. The only downside is that London is expensive, and it feels even pricier during that time of year.
VERONA
2022
During a visit to see Vicky’s friend in Milan, as well as stopping by the Hard Rock Cafe there, we decided to take a day trip to Verona the next day. It’s a beautiful city that has everything you’d expect to find in Italy: pizza, a colosseum, and the famous balcony from Romeo and Juliet. Definitely a city that offers plenty to enjoy in just one day.
SCOTLAND
2023
Thanks to Ryanair, we decided to fly to Scotland. After arriving, we took a bus straight to Glasgow and tried to make the most of a rainy day there. In the evening, we headed to Edinburgh, where we spent the majority of our time. From trying haggis to sipping whiskey and doing plenty of sightseeing, we explored the city—and it was absolutely beautiful.
PORTUGAL
2023
We were very lucky because Malte won a trip to Portugal at a tourism job fair, specifically a week-long all-inclusive stay at the Robinson Club in Faro. Anyone who knows us and has been following us for a while knows that we can’t just relax by the pool for a whole week. So, we rented a car and explored during the Algarve coast instead.
SPAIN
2023
After a week of all-inclusive luxury, we went back to our roots and used BlaBlaCar for the first time. First, we took a bus from the Algarve to Seville, and from there, Pedro gave us a ride since he was also heading to Marbella. Once in Marbella, we visited the Hard Rock Hotel Marbella before continuing our journey to Málaga—one of the coolest cities in Spain.
BALKAN
2024
In 2024, we explored a different part of Europe and flew to the Balkans. After picking up a car in Dubrovnik, our journey took us to Bosnia and Herzegovina. Following a wonderful stay in Mostar, we continued to Montenegro to visit Budva and Kotor. The week ended back in Dubrovnik. We had a great time with plenty of meat, beers, and, as always, lots of sightseeing!
GERMANY
2022 & 2023 & 2024
Of course, we were always traveling around Germany when Vicky came to visit. To name just a few highlights: Munich, with a visit to Neuschwanstein Castle; Hamburg, including a stay at the coolest hotel building in the world; Düsseldorf for Japan Day, and so much more. We love exploring Germany, and I enjoy introducing Vicky to German cuisine along the way.
